Belisa - 100% Cashmere yarns 100% Cashmere - 1.5 ply lace weight 100g cone Belisa Silk and Wool Blends have been Discontinued: Cashmere wool blend - 1.5 ply lace weight 100g cone Gauge Guide Single end - 9 stitches/inch or 36 stitches/10 cm on US No 0 (2 mm) needle Please see our Knitting Kits for the cashmere kits of baby hat, booties, cardigan, and shawl for baby, and our new scarf kit. This yarn is lubricated for use in knitting machines so that static doesn't build up. The lubricant also protects the fibres while you're hand knitting. With the first wash, the lubricant washes out and the stitches will reset and adjust slightly. Once they have adjusted with the lubricant removed they won't readjust again. The amount of adjustment to the size will very from knitter to knitter, and will also depend on the pattern stitch you are using so it's very important to knit a sample swatch and measure it both before and after washing. There is no set amount of shrinkage (or stretching) but whatever happens to your swatch should be what happens to your knitted garment. You should also make sure you wash your garment the same way you wash your swatch For a thicker yarn, the recommendation from Belisa is to knit 2 or 3 ends together. As a rough guide for an average sweater, you would need approximately 200g (2 cones) for knitting a single, 400-500g (4 to 5 cones) for knitting 2 ends together, or 600-700g (6 to 7 cones) for knitting 3 ends together. · Warm hand wash using a soap-washing product suitable for wool
